Jennie grew up on a farm just outside of Enid. She moved to Atlanta to attend college, earning her undergraduate degree in Religion and her Master’s degree in Education. She met her husband Brian and began her family in Southwest Atlanta. In 2012, she was named Teacher of the Year for the Fulton County district. Wanting to be closer to extended family and the land she loved as a child, she and her family returned to Enid in 2015. Jennie teaches fourth grade at Garfield Elementary and is reviving her family farm to provide Enidites with fresh vegetables, eggs, and honey.
Having attended Enid Public Schools as a student, Jennie was disappointed by how severely underfunded Oklahoma schools have become. After experiencing the lack of cooperation and integrity in the Legislature first-hand, Jennie was compelled to run for office so that she could better represent the needs of everyday Oklahomans.
